We are advocates for the Constitutional rights of families (parents/guardians and children/students), teachers, administrative staff and other stakeholders in our district while advocating for continuing to adapt and adopt policies that provide for exemplary traditional education that is based on core academics.
Specifically, we need to prepare each student for the highest level of education required for them to continue on their chosen path after high school of either college, trade, military or other direction they choose. We must also provide our educators with the necessary tools and supplies for them to fulfill this goal.
Similar to the expression of separation of church and state, we must also rid politics from our schools. Currently, elected officials at the state level have too much involvement in setting policy and direction and that needs to stop. We will continue to support our current BOE to accomplish this goal.
We have approximately 600 districts in New Jersey for a reason; to allow for the individualization of policies for given populations within each district. It is severely negatively impacting school administrators, teachers and students to be forced to comply with policies and mandates that are statewide and not recognizing district specific needs.
It is going to take a great deal of time, effort and dedication to continue on the path set out by our current BOE which is to protect student and parent rights.
In order to accomplish this it is going to require additional board members who are willing to put themselves in the public eye.
As we move forward with this effort, we will be questioned, challenged and denigrated by those in and outside of our district who disagree with this stance. We will also receive a great deal of support from those who agree with the efforts and resources to protect student and parent rights.
Our goal, if elected to serve on the Marlboro K-8 Board of Education is to work with the existing board members in an effort to protect all of our legal rights and help to support and pass policies for the education and support of all of our students and get rid of politics in our schools.
We respectfully ask for your support and for your vote.
Thank you.
